This week I had a chance to chat to local creator Sarah-Jane from TomKatCreations. I asked her a couple of questions about her silver fingerprint jewellery and what the future looks like for her business.
Who is behind TomKatCreations?
My name is Sarah-Jane. I am a mum of 3 living in Kettering with my youngest 2 children and o/h as well as Oscar the Boston Terrier

How did the business come about?
I started TomKatCreations after having fingerprint charms made of my eldest 2 children. I have always enjoyed making things so I enrolled on a course to learn how to make jewellery from silver clay. Not long afterwards the kiln was purchased and I have been making silver jewellery ever since. That was nearly 10 years ago now.
What do you offer?
I make personalised silver jewellery. I mainly capture fingerprints in the silver but I also make stamps from handprints, footprints, paw prints and handwriting. These can then be stamped into silver, the options are endless.
What is your bestseller?
My bestseller has to be silver cufflinks. I make them with the prints mentioned above and I have made cufflinks with a stamp of the brides’ kiss xx for her to give the groom on the big day!! It is lovely to know I have been able to make something that special.
What items do you enjoy designing/ making the most?
I enjoy making all of the silver pieces. I love making something totally unique and I even like the messy part of sanding down the silver clay and soldering before making it beautiful and packaging everything nicely before sending it on.
What does the future look like for TomKatCreations?
The future is looking bright but smaller for me at TomKatCreations, I have wound down my online stores and will be focusing on selling jewellery locally, I have been lucky enough to be asked to show my jewellery at a new venue in Kettering catering to mums and mums to be and I am looking forward to being able to go and set up my jewellery on display soon as well as selling through my Instagram and Facebook pages.
