Yesterday Hudson and I headed for a walk to Badby Wood. Usually, on trips like this, I keep Hudson in the pram and he isn’t a fan of walking. However, these woods are quite small so I kept him out and I’m glad I did as it gave us the chance to wander off the main paths.
The woods are located on the edge of Badby village. They are not signposted so if like me you haven’t been before you will want to use Google maps or similar. I have included the postcode and a map at the bottom of this post.

parking at Badby wood…
There is just a small carpark for Badby woods. I can’t imagine this ever gets full though, there were only 2 other cars when we visited.
From the carpark, you have to walk up a track between 2 fields to the entrance of the woods. Although wide enough for a pram it’s quite uneven so would be a very bumpy ride for the passenger! The walk does, however, provide some beautiful views over the valley.
entering Badby wood…
At the entrance to the woods is the remains of a gatehouse that are pretty cool and you can walk through it. To enter the actual woods you do need to walk through a gate that might be a bit tricky to get through with a wide pram or wheelchair.
Once inside the woods you can follow the wide path or take one of the smaller ones like we did through the trees. The day we went was beautiful and sunny but if it’s been raining it will get very wet and muddy so wellies are definitely advised!
When we took one of the smaller paths into the heart of the wood we found some tall trees that had been cut down. Hudson enjoyed climbing on and walking along these.
