Winter Gardens & Millennium Galleries
The winter gardens are one of the largest temperate glasshouses in the UK filled with over 2.5k plants from around the world creating a beautiful display and a relaxing green space right in the heart of the city. Connected to the Winter Gardens is the Millennium Galleries, Sheffield’s premier destination for art, craft and design including unique metalwork and Ruskin collections. Both of these are based right in the centre of Sheffield and about a 5-minute walk from the train station so it’s the perfect venue to start your journey around Sheffield.
Meadowhall is a leading shopping and leisure destination and is definitely worth a visit, it’s the largest shopping centre in Yorkshire and has over 280 stores for you to browse, a cinema and a dining quarter covering fast food options and restaurants to suit every taste. Regular events and pop up stores keep it fresh and always worth a visit.

If you’re looking for a bite to eat and a great social experience then I can’t recommend Kommune enough, opening in 2019 it’s gone from strength to strength since. It’s situated in a Grade II listed building right in the heart of the city and is full to the brim of unique and independent kitchens and traders from across the country. It’s a very social open plan dining experience with 9 different kitchens plus an art space and independent stores too. I personally recommend Fat Hippo for burgers of epic proportions and tastes.
Sheffield is incredible because a vast area of the S postcode is actually the beautiful peak district national park. Breathtaking views and the most peaceful place on earth it’s just a short drive out of the city centre of Sheffield and provides endless opportunities to explore the countryside. Take a hike around Surprise View or visit the Longshaw estate – the best thing about the Peak District is uncovering your own secrets and favourite places.
New to Sheffield in late 2019, Lane 7 is amazing. It combines everything great about 10 pin bowling with amazing food from Fat Hippo and delicious drinks. Bowling is just the start – you can also play pool, darts, ping pong, beer pong and there’s even a batting cage to keep you entertained. The atmosphere is always electric and it’s a really great night out
